Currently Creative...

Today I thought I would join in on the Currently Creative link up over at Kellie's blog Give a girl a..

Those who know me well, know that I've always got a few projects going at the same time. Nothing ever gets finished before anything new gets started. For example at the moment I am working on..

** 2013 Project Life (front page a work in progress)
All cards are from the January Project Life kit from Studio Calico. I am yet to really sit down and finish this as I still have no idea if this is exactly how I want it to look. There are so many awesome ideas I have seen via SC Day by Day class (sign up closed), Instagram and Pinterest.. but I just can't work out what suits US best..

** Leila's Baby album (front page also a work in progress)
LOVING the Becky Higgins Baby kit for her colours for this. I had already done most of Leila's first few days prior to receiving the kit, so I haven't really used many of the information journalling cards. I will save those for future use (if needed)

** Our Xmas album for 2012 - using a red Sn@p binder and multiple December Daily kits and extras. So far I have only managed to get the tree decorating photos in and its taken up 1/3 of the binder lol

** Amazing Race album for my cousin Steve who was part of The Amazing Race Australia last year. This has been sitting waiting to be completed since July... whoops
(he has seen most of it, just waiting on more items to add into it so I can finish it)

and a School years album for a friends daughter (no photos taken of that as yet)

As you can see there is always something for me to work on.. yet at the moment my craft area looks like this..
Clean and tidy.. waiting for creative chaos to happen while i lounge around on the couch with a sick little lady :(

So what are you currently creating?? Head on over to Kellie's blog (link at top of post) and share with us all x

Project Life 2013 Week 2 & 3

I am extremely happy with how well I'm keeping up and staying on track this year (yes I know it's only 3 weeks in). The only problem I'm having is remembering to take photos and blog about it on a weekly basis.

This week I'm sharing the last 2 weeks of layouts. Super happy with how they turned out! And I thought I'd give more of an insight into what the photos are about :)

For week 2 I have used a mini kit from Jodie at Polka Dot Creative, featuring a handmade confetti pocket made by Jodie herself. LOVE IT!! The papers are from the Darling Dear and Yearbook collections by Studio Calico. So cute!

In this layout you can see I am sticking to my different pockets each week idea. I have the design B on the right with the design A. Both designs work well together.

Left hand side up close. You can see the back of the confetti pocket I made in the page protector from last week. I added a wood veneer from the PDC mini kit and a piece of washi tape to finish off this side. Only wish I had adhered another arrow to the back of the one in the confetti pocket.
Along the middle row I have used another calendar from In a creative bubble, I am planning on using these every week rather than filling up an entire 4x6 pocket like last year as a header card. More space for bigger photos!
During this week Becky Higgins announced so many new designs of Project Life, I cannot wait to see them all in the flesh. I have a few favourites and must haves!
I started getting more of Leila's baby album completed. Mainly just photos and cards in pockets, no journalling as yet.
Yay for 100 followers on pinterest..
Bottom row is a drawing by Leila of a star (pretty good for a 2 year old) embellished with a Cherry Flair from A Piece of Cake Designs and a Kraft speech bubble from Documenting Chaos (part of the PDC mini Kit) and the last photo is my creative chaos from the week before when gettin crafty with week 1
(For privacy reasons I have covered up the top right pocket. This was a 4x6 photo of an email conversation)

Right hand side .. This week had a few super hot days in the high 30's to mid 40's YUCK! Leila found a new way to play with her truck, we payed a visit to some friends for a play date, Leila found a new bed time toy (spoons), I finally cleaned up my messy craft table, and the Project Life mini kits arrived on my doorstep!! Yay
Most of products used here are from the PDC mini kit. The aqua spotted washi, the cobalt kit journal card and mini letters are from my stash and worked with the kit real well.

Now onto WEEK 3...
I used a collection kit from Echo Park Paper co. - Everyday Eclectic. Love the colours, the Kraft and the embellishment stickers/letters that come in this pack. Had a lot of fun setting it up that I didn't want to add photos at all!!

How pretty do all the papers look together. This is how I generally set out my week if I want to use an entire collection before I print the photos. Other weeks I print the photos then add the paper.

But as you can see below I gave in and made it into a gorgeous layout. Might have to use this range again :)

This past week has been a busy one! I am still yet to finish the inserts (using a design e chopped in half) Parcels of scrapping goodness arrived from Polka Dot Creative and Give a girl a... We had a few more hot days, I got lots of photos printed while Leila slept or entertained herself while I scrapped up on the expedit in the lounge. Thought I needed to take more photos, but by the end of the week I had too many! Over the weekend Leila had a playdate with her cousins Bailey and Lachlan. I went to a 30th then spent a lovely few hours in Melbourne talking Project life with 6 of the loveliest ladies that are part of the Project Life Australia group.

Design B was perfect for the card I received from Kellie over at Give a girl a.. As part of a kit swap we did. It worked in well with the colours of the collection. I tried not to use many other embellishments other than what was in the kit, however I had to add a cherry flair or 2 from Raquel at A piece of cake designs. The frames are from Heidi Swapp (large) and Studio Calico (small). The silver glitter tape (my absolute favourite stash item right now!!) is from Typo and I'm running short again, but they no longer stock it. Must find a decent replacement as I can see this featuring a lot this year.
The back of the confetti pocket from week 2's PDC mini kit also worked in well with this collection, which is fantastic as those who know me, know I love confetti!
Love the little arrows, cameras and banner notes from this collection kit. They finish things off nicely.

To finish off this weeks photos of my new friends I have used a couple more Cherry flairs from APOCD, another frame from and a disco star from Heidi Swapp, a Kraft sack from Greatest View to hold receipts from the day out in Melbourne and embellishments from the Echo Park Everyday Eclectic collection kit. Oh and another calendar from In a Creative Bubble.

Love how this week has turned out. Hope you all do to x
Now back to cultivating that good life of mine :)

Project Life is a concept designed by Becky Higgins. It is a range that works anyway you want it to. You don't have to embellish your layouts or use any extra products like I do. You can easily record an album full of memories with just a Core Kit, bulk pack of page protectors and a 12x12 Album. I purchase all my core products from Craft House - Exclusive stockist for Australia and New Zealand.

Project Life 2013 Week 1

Are you ready? I am so excited to share with you all (7 followers lol) my week 1 layout.. I can't share the title page of the album yet as I haven't even made it :/ slack I know! Although I am waiting on my Studio Calico kits to arrive as there are a few cards I would love to use in there.

For this layout I have used the November kit from A Piece of Cake Designs, plus a few random bits from my stash :) LOVE the colours of the papers Raquel had chosen for this one.

I have used a design F page protector on the left and the design A on the right. I'm trying to mix it up this year and use different page protectors rather than just the A's like last year. LOVE how this week has turned out.

Left hand side close up shows all the small pockets of design F. The 'summer days' and 'hello 2013' cards were made by 2 lovely ladies in the Project Life Australia Facebook group as part of our monthly tag swap. I thought they suited this layout quite well. The One little word flair button is from A Piece of Cake Designs also. Raquel has just started designing and making these , which I think are amazing! The 'why hello there' bubble and 123456789 frame are both from studio calico.

Got creative with a confetti pocket on this side of the layout. I saw this somewhere on Pinterest or Facebook or a blog.. Cannot remember exactly, but loved it enough to scrap-lift it! I am absolutely loving confetti pockets at the moment, and sequins and glitter! The Calendar is from In a creative bubble. I printed it onto Kraft using my Epson Picturemate then embellished it. These will be popping up each week as I think they are pretty cool! The selfie of me after mum had coloured my hair for me is a flip pocket. It opens to the left to reveal the finished product and some journalling. Week in review stamp is by Kelly Purkey exclusive for 2peas.

Last but not least, the start of a month isn't complete without an embellished monthly divider. This was my contribution to the tag swap in the PLAustralia group. I glued each sequin added a stamped doily, glitter tape and stamped the bottom, then sewed part of a plain page protector over the top to stop anything from catching, ripping or falling off. I think it turned out great!

Well I hope you like my first week! Week 2 is halfway through, yet I have no idea what kit/ products I will use this time.. Plenty of choice here with my many PL core kits, APOCD & SC kits..

Until next time..
Keep crafting xx

That's a wrap!

I have officially finished my 2012 Project life albums. I say albums, because I managed to fill 3 of them! I am still amazed at how well I have kept up with this project over the last 12 months, as the 2 previous years I was always a month or 2 behind and didn't manage to get them both finished until a few months after the year had finished.

I though I would share a few layouts from the last album on here today. You can also find all layouts for all 3 years in my flickr account (button located on sidebar) to save you from a photo overloaded post!

Here we go..

Week 37 saw me getting creative with grid journal cards & a sharpie. Simple yet effective. I used a mini kit from Polkadot Creative, washi tape from my stash & a Charms Creations Lovely Lollipop. The insert is the beverages menu we 'accidentally' brought home from dinner with friends.

Week 40 features one of my favourite ranges from 2012 - Sketchbook by Amy Tangerine, plus a few random bits and pieces from my stash. Inserts are an invite & postcard we received that week. (Photos blurred for privacy reasons)

Week 47 I used a Photo Freedom collection from Echo Park. LOVE this colour combo! Very simple slightly embellished layout. One of my favourite layouts for the year.

Week 50 I used another Mini kit from Polkadot Creative. This was a Christmas kit, but was suitable for use in a standard week layout. I LOVE how versatile Jodie's kits are, jam packed with yummy goodness.

Lucky last week of the year.. Due to the way I started the album I have ended up with 53+ weeks for 2012. In this last layout I have used random stash that I gathered for my December Daily album, plus a few Christmas Journal/Filler cards made by some lovely ladies in the Project Life Australia group on Facebook as part of our monthly card swap. The very last photo was from the fireworks here in Geelong taken by a local photographer James Collier. Amazing photos!

Hoping to have the first 2013 layout update within the next week..
