I Heart This - Pink Fresh Studio

Hi everyone!!
Today I thought I would drop in and share a layout I made last weekend using the new Pink Fresh Up in the Clouds collection. Its just been re-stocked in the Scrappy Canary store, so get in quick before it sells out!

This range is perfect for documenting Leila's new Fairy dress. (Its taken a couple of months to finally get her to try it on, and now its all she wants to wear) Perfectly girly in every way! Lots of bright colours and cute patterns to layer
Please excuse the poor quality of the photo. My laptop is not playing nicely right at the moment and is not recognising any edits I make to photos within the editing software I use :(

I've layered pieces from the wood tags, ephemera and puffy stickers set, along with some circles I punched from one of the papers. The 'don't quit your day dream' quote is from the Gold rub ons pack.

A close up showing how Ive tucked in the frame from the ephemera pack behind the photo mat, then sewed them both to the page..

And lastly, a close up of the banner cluster and gold leaf rub ons..

I had so much fun creating with this range, and I look forward to sharing more creations made with it soon. If you want to snap any of the collection up before it disappears, feel free to use the following discount code upon check out in the Scrappy Canary Store :)

January 2015 Project Life share

Hello Everyone!!
Today Im sharing a recent Project Life spread using the January Candy Heart Pocket Life kit. There are still a few left in store, so if your needing something to create with while you wait on the February kit to be released, head on over and snap one up before they're all gone :)

Ive mixed in some Dear Lizzy ephemera through out the layout, they worked nicely with the papers and embellishments within the kit.

A few close ups of to share the clusters of embellishments throughout the spread..

And you can see I went a little crazy with the Tiny attacher throughout the layout... yeah.. lol I ran out of adhesive after adhering all the photos to their backing cards :) Tiny staples it was

Thanks for stopping by, can't wait to get my hands on the next kit!!

Love to Craft

Hello everyone :)
This is my last layout share with this months Scrappy Canary Lots of Love Scrapbook kit.
Ive only got scraps left over from this kit, plus a few embellishments, but nothing big enough to actually make anything with. I think I have officially killed this kit! YAY
This layout was actually made prior to the February Sketch challenge layout, so I had more choice of papers to use, and bigger pieces too.

I went with papers that complimented the colours within the photo.. And my usual signature doily ;)

And yep you are seeing correctly! Its not a photo of Leila!! I thought I would scrap a different photo to my usual subject for this layout. I've been getting a few comments from the audience at home as to whether I actually take any other photos other than of Leila or me? lol I hope I haven't bored the rest of you with her cute little face?? Any way, I thought the next best thing other than the usual photos of Leila, or myself (Clinton doesn't get in front of the camera much himself either) would be of my other love - crafting.

I changed up the normal straight stitch sewing for a little zigzag along the top flags

Then went straight back to my trusty straight stitch to adhere the thickers to the page. Ive found lately that the stickiness of thickers isn't fantastic, and that they need a little helping hand to stay on the page.

Thats all from me today. Cant wait to get my hands on next months kits and get creative again

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your week :)

Be Golden

Hello everyone :)
Ive gone a little crazy in the creating department lately!!
I've been killing kits left right and centre, which is good as normally they tend to sit around for months on end without being touched!

This is another layout that Ive created with the recent main kit from A Piece of Cake Designs
I did go a little layering crazy, but I couldn't help it! Those papers and embellishments were just calling for it :)

Ive used the cut apart papers and ephemera pieces to create my title.
I have made another title this way recently, but that layout can't be shared just yet as its been picked up for publication!!! YAHOO :)

Yep, totally crazy layers!!

Hope you enjoyed this little snippet of whats been on my desk (kitchen table) recently
Back to share more very soon

Peeping Tom

Hello Fellow crafters
Dropping in today to share a 'just because' layout I made recently.

I was stuck for ideas on where I wanted to start, so I went back through some older layouts for inspiration. I ended up scrap lifting a layout that I am still yet to share here! It was based on a sketch challenge for Scrappy Canary, prior to me joining the team.

This is the original sketch
I rotated it to the left and made this page back in September last year

To make my current page, Ive turned the inspiration layout upside down, then moved the placement of the photo and title to give it a different look.
Ive layered up papers and embellishments from the latest kit from A Piece of Cake Designs (now sold out) Paper within the kit is from recent Amy Tangerine, Dear Lizzy and Websters Pages collections.

A close up of the mixed alpha title. Loving mixing up the fonts and colours lately

Pieces from the Dear Lizzy ephemera pack in the kit make the perfect clusters

Well there you have it.
1 sketch from many months ago and 2 very similar but different layouts :)

Silly Selfies

Hello again :)
Another late night share using the We R Memory Keepers Love Notes collection
This time I've made a layout for the Sassy Scrappers February Mood Board

Heres a look at the board :)
I was very inspired by the black and white photo and the touches of gold throughout the board. I also wanted to add in a touch of green and pink

These photos are documenting Leila and her completely random selfies that I find from time to time on my iPhone. I LOVE them! So silly, but oh so much fun!

I layered up the 3 photos at different heights using adhesive foam tape, and some machine stitching
Added in some pattern paper and gold washi underneath

A mixed alpha and handwritten title, sewn down to keep the not so sticky alphas in place

And lastly a small cluster, if you can call it that. Made up of a Dear Lizzy heart, that matches the title thickers, some gold washi tape and an iPhone card that I cut down from the Albums made easy collection kit

More to share in the next few days, for now Im off to bed

New Christmas Traditions

Hello Fellow crafters
Today Im sharing my take on the February Jot Moodboard
I was super excited to have won last months challenge with my Happy Birthday Leila layout

This month Scrappy Canary are the sponsors of the board. So although I am ineligible for the prize, I still wanted to join in the fun!
LOVE is in the air for this board

I wanted to tie in as many colours from the palette as I could. I was inspired to use the pastel green and pink, the black and white and the splashes of darker pink/red. I found all these colours within the Love Notes collection by We R Memory Keepers.

Ive used cards from the Albums made easy kit, and layered them up with vellum and papers from the 12x12 paper pad

Ive done minimal embellishing with 1 single heart from a Dear Lizzy thickers pack and the cork XO circle came from the WRMK cork sticker pack (which I've recoloured using Red Color shine)

Sewed straight through the thickers to adhere them to the page, and add a finishing touch to the page..

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed my take on this months board :)

Mummy the Hairdresser

Hello Everyone :)
Today is Sketch day over on the Scrappy Canary Blog. And boy do we have something different to share today.

This month the sketch is based on the very last layout I squeezed out of the January Lots of Love Scrapbook kit. I only had odd sized scraps and strips of papers from the kit, including the bottom barcode strips. Ive also included embellishments from the Be Mine kit

Completely different to my normal layered up style, this time Ive gone for a more spread out page. Lots of different size strips and scraps make up the base, with the addition of a doily from stash, a tag stickers and embellishments from the embellishment kit.

All this layout is missing, is a little baggie of the curls I collected from the floor after chopping off all her dry ends. I might squeeze it in behind the main photo.. one day

The only thing I haven't done as usual is sew my thickers down. I might do this one day in the future to keep them in the same place. Ive found recently they aren't as sticky as they should be, as I've had to go back and fix older layouts.

There you have it. A layout completely different to my usual style but one that was totally fun to complete :)

Life Zesters February Challenge

My second share for today is this months Life Zesters Challenge
This month we are challenging you to use and share....
Think Woodgrain papers, wood veneer, the word or any other way you can think of using 'wood'

I'm sharing my 2015 title page for this challenge..
I've teamed up pocket page cards, photos, canvas pockets and gold overlays.

A Heidi Swapp wood veneer word from one of her Project Life Value packs

Some veneer like thickers and a veneer star finish off this Pink Fresh canvas pocket

A veneer card from A Piece of Cake designs, finished off with a veneer like thicker star and some random pieces of fabric and string

And lastly a woodgrain pattern paper under a Gold overlay from the Heidi Swapp pocket page pack, and a wood veneer banner.

Lots of different ways to use 'wood' within a page.

We have 3 sponsors for this months challenge!! Charms Creations, Funky Flairs and The Scrappery.
Head on over to the main Life Zesters Blog post to find out more about what our sponsors have for our winners this month :)

D-Lish Scraps February Inspiration Board Challenge

Hello everyone
Ive got 2 posts to share today.

This month we are channeling our inner beach goddess lol who am I kidding...

Inspired by the beach theme to the board, I thought it was about time I shared a different photo other than Leila. This photo was taken almost 7 years ago when Mum and I travelled over seas (Europe, England and the U.S all in 5 weeks!)

Thats me, 24 years old. Child free, no BF and not a  care in the world. Enjoying the beach in North Carolina. We have family that live over there, and boy was it a magical time! I hope that one day I can share that wonderful link in our family history with Leila and Clinton.

Anyway, back to the page. I searched high and low for a pattern paper that suited the board just right. I came across this one I'd been 'hoarding' from Pink Paislee. I wanted to use it for the right photo. I think Ive chosen well. I went for a multi alpha title and sewed down those that weren't very sticky.

Mixed up embellishments from the shop, into clusters above the photo, the top of the page...

and the bottom right corner. A perfect mix.

I also added in a layer or 2 of the white tule under the photo, but above the paper layers.
